I'm Going Through the Big D and Don't Mean Dallas

Or divorce. The big D in my life is diet. Yes, it's that time of year again, and I have resolved to lose weight and get in shape...again. My poor husband is so supportive and he treats every attempt I've made at dieting as though I'm really going to stick with it. Bless his heart, I love him dearly.

In my defense, I truly intend to be faithful to my healthy eating plans, and exercise program, but I always seem to go astray. This time (I keep promising myself) it will be different. I've been at it for 2 weeks now, and am actually feeling great! I've lost four pounds and I've been working out 3 times a week so I'm off to a great start.

I'll be posting on and off about my progress as a way of recording all of this for myself. This blog is primarily a tool to help me remember things that happen to me and my family, and right now this diet is a huge part of my life. There is no intent to bore the blogosphere with all the mundane details of my journey, neither is an attempt to garner praise and/or pity from those who follow my blog. I just want to keep track for myself, so feel free to ignore all of my diet related ramblings.

That is all.

I am going to be checking in on your progress and watching for things to inspire me. :-) I have been trying unsuccessfully for over a year to lose 15 pounds. I weigh two pounds more this year than I did this same time last year. I am just not able to stay motivated. I am considering weight watchers. Do you know anything about them?

You know I can't ignore anything you do or say (write)! Way to go! I desperately need to figure out how to get some exercise in my life - my recent broken foot and my migraines are really hampering me, though.

I'll be looking to you for inspiration as well. You've already inspired me with your twitter blurbs on working out. Not enough to get me moving, but at least I'm thinking about it now. ;) I love you, Xandra... you could never bore me.

I will be tuning in to not only cheer you on and encourage you...but to also gain inspiration!

Thankfully, I have gotten back on the working-out train...BUT -- I could really use help in the eating area.

Sigh...

I'm right there with you. It seems the older we get the harder it is to stay in shape and keep the scales to a reasonable number. Sigh. Anyway, I'm working out and really trying cut back on a few calories. May we achieve success together!

Gary and I are trying a weight loss thing together this time. We're each putting money into a kitty every month (think gym membership) and commiting to work out three times a week in our basement "gym". Hopefully by the time we're fit and trim, we'll have saved enough for a little vacation. =) I'll be watching for your updates!!

Girl, you know I understand about the Big D. And honestly, I think my random updates on the blog have kept me accountable without too much pressure and has helped me stick with it and be successful. I hope it works the same for you!
